Abraham charles Crouse, 93, died March 24, 1988, at his Washburn residence. He was born at Crouseville, January 7, 1895, the son of Arthur and Serena Corliss Crouse.

He was a lifelong member and past trustee of the Crouseville Advent Christian Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I. Mr. Crouse had also been a member of the Washburn Town Council, the American Legion, Maine Farm Bureau, the American Red Cross, and had also been a trustee for the Big Lake Camp Meetings at Princeton.

He is survived by his wife, Alta Stoddard, Crouse; one son, A. Charles Crouse of Washburn; three daughters, Mrs Carroll (Opal) Armstrong of Machias, Mrs Charles (Crystal) Cunningham of Crouseville and Mrs James (Joanne) Peterson of Lakeland, FL; two brothers, Lloyd A of Presque Isle and Arvard E of Crouseville; one sister, Mrs John (Arlene) Holman of Port Clyde; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Ona Mae Haynes Crouse in 1975. He was also predeceased by a brother, the Rev Dr Moses Crouse and a sister, Mrs Robert (Octavia) Scott.

Friends may call 7-9 pm Saturday at Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St, Presque Isle. Funeral services will be conducted 2 pm Sunday at the Crouseville Advent Christian Church, with the Reverends Robert McCarthy and Martin Rasmussen, officiating. Spring interment will be in Crouseville Cemetery.
