Dixie Pearl Dyson, 83, of Concordia, MO, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at The Lutheran Nursing Home in Concordia.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2016 at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia with Rev. Dr. Alan Gatewood officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will be in Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Concordia Public Library. An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born November 4, 1932 in Fayette, MO, she was the daughter of the late Homer Lusby and Florence Shockley Lusby. Dixie was a 1950 graduate of Marshall High School, and then continued her education with American Institution of Banking Classes. While living in Marshall, she was a member of Rainbow Girl’s and Rebecca’s, having held many chairs in that organization. Dixie’s career was spent in banking, retiring in December 1994 from Boatmen’s-First National Bank, now Bank of America, as a personal banker. In 1996 she moved to Concordia where she was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ. She was a member of The Lutheran Good Shepherd Home Auxiliary, Heritage Society, American Institute of Banking and Safety Deposit Box Association, the Banking Association of Missouri, helped with Senior Olympics, and at Christmas she helped with those who had suffered a loss due to S.I.D.S. Dixie was married to Harold Dyson who preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Bradley Wessler and wife Vicki of Raymore, and Bryan Wessler and wife Myrna of rural Warsaw; three grandchildren: Stacy Tucker, Cliff Wessler and wife Christina, and Jana Menning and husband David; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Ahrens of Marshall; as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Lusby and Kenneth Lusby.
