Inscription

A preacher of the Gospel of Christ , a teacher of his truth through many books read in many lands. He graduated at Yale College in 1822, was ordained and settled in Groton 1827, installed at Northampton 1833, at Philadelphia 1836, and over the First Congregational Church in Pittsfield in 1842, where for many years he was a zealous and beloved pastor.
