Norma Splawn Hopper, age 70, of Goodes Creek Church Road, Mooresboro, NC formerly of Charlotte, NC, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the Rutherford Hospital in Rutherfordton, NC. She was born July 10, 1938 in Rutherford County to the late Shufford Splawn and Lennie Brown Splawn.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Don Hopper; two sisters, Eloise Gunter and Martha Melton and three brothers, Herbert Splawn, Eugene Splawn, and Gerald Splawn.

Norma was a member of the Eastern Hills Baptist Church of Charlotte, NC and a member of the Eastern Star. She was also an avid golfer and bowler.

She is survived by one daughter, Kim Hopper Walker and husband Freddie of Cliffside, NC; one son, Michael Ray Hopper and wife Rhonda of Dublin, VA; two brothers, Doyle Splawn of Gaffney, SC and William Splawn of Mooresboro; two sisters, Sally Oaks of Cliffside and Dorean Westbrook of Chesnee, SC. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Leslie Walker Francis, Kevin Deon Walker, Pamela Rae Walker, Tabitha Walker Langley, Gracie Hopper, Christi Hopper, and Mandi Hopper, three great grandchildren, Hayden Francis, Preston Henson, and Emma Langley, and several nieces and nephews.
