Ethel M. Parr, 102, of Shippensburg, died Sunday, December 27, 2015 at home.

She was born June 17, 1913 in New Oxford, Adams County. Ethel was a daughter of the late John B. and Mary A. Kahlbaugh Carbaugh.

She was Co-Owner of the former Parr’s Sporting Goods in Shippensburg and enjoyed baking. Ethel was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church in Shippensburg.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Burnell W. Parr who died June 6, 1990, two sons, Robert B. Parr, Sr., and William L. Parr, Sr., and three sisters, Bernie Eline, Pauline Sponseller, and Mary Groft.

Ethel is survived by two daughters, Joan P. Solick and her husband Michael of Spring City, and Bonnie L. Zinn of Scotland, 13 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2016 in Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Father Robert Yohe. Burial will take place in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in church Wednesday morning.
