Irene Hobbins, 90, passed away December 27, 2015, in Cedar Park, TX. She was born on January 21, 1925, in Goliad, TX, to Henry and Mary Urban Arnecke. Irene was the youngest of 15 children having seven brothers and seven sisters.

She married Adolph Harms of Nordheim and had two sons, Donnie Harms and Lonnie Harms and an infant daughter, Lani Harms who died at birth. Adolph died in December, 1952. Irene married James Hobbins in January of 1957 and had one daughter, Kayle. James died in May, 1983.

She is preceded in death by both husbands; infant daughter, Lani; son, Donnie Harms; and by seven brothers and six sisters.

Irene is survived by her son, Lonnie Harms and wife Ginger of Cedar Park, TX; grandson, Hunter Harms and wife Laray and great-grandchildren, Corbin, Graylin and Sebastian of Leander, TX; daughter, Kayle Schoen and husband Daniel and grandchildren, Breigh, Britne, and Bryton and great-grandchildren, Jonny and Zoey, all of Austin. She also has a great-granddaughter, Hailey Grace, due to join us on this earth, January 2nd. Her sweet great-granddaughter, Zoey Irene, is named after her.

She is also survived by her first granddaughter, Kim Kendricks and husband Travis and great-grandchildren, Trenton, Adrianna and Brianna, all of Bonifay, FL. This was her son, Donnie’s daughter and unfortunately she never got to meet any of them.

Irene has so many nieces and nephews that she was very close to and loved very much. They were all very special to her. Her only living sibling is her sister, Meta Roeben of Port Lavaca, TX.

Irene ran a registered day care out of her home from 1972 until she retired in 1992. During this time she helped to raise hundreds of children. She always made sure she had a picture of every child she ever took care of. Irene was a very sweet and kind-hearted woman who loved to play bingo and scratch-off lottery tickets.

For almost 7 years she was a resident of New Hope Manor in Cedar Park.

Irene was greatly loved by all of her family and will be greatly missed.
