Helen was born on May 4, 1922, in Parker, Idaho, to Charles Sperry Davenport and Flora Bell Barrett. She was the 4th of six children.
Helen loved music and sang in a trio all through high school. She graduated from Ricks College with an associates degree and taught school until she started her own family. She married Ivan R. Miller on November 8, 1943, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with five children.
Helen was a wonderful wife and mother. She loved homemaking and cooking. She loved feeding people and never passed up an opportunity to do so. She loved people and was always interested in their lives. She had a remarkable memory and loved staying in touch with anyone she met. She wrote lots of letters. She was also a bold patriot and loved this country.
Helen loved the Lord and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She had a simple but profound faith. Her main goal in life was to keep the commandments and endure to the end. Helen always had a positive attitude and was blessed with the gift of Gratitude. She held onto both of those gifts until the very end. She left a great heritage to her children and grandchildren. She set a great example for them to follow.
She is survived by her children, Jud (Catherine) Miller of Rigby, Kim (Sheryl) Miller of Sandy, Utah, Trenna (Scott) Dixon of Rexburg, Shauna Parkin of Layton, Utah, Chad (Nicki) Miller of Boise; 26 grandchildren and 62 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son-in-law, two grandsons and four great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, at the Hibbard LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
