Martha Bell Thacker, age 90, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015 at her home. Martha was born on Sept. 9, 1925 to her parents the late Burbon Thacker and Mercy Adkins Thacker. She was former personal assistant for Lucille Smith and worked at Pikeville Day Care. Martha was also a member of the Faith First Baptist Church at Jimmie's Creek. Along with her parents, Martha was preceded in death by two sisters, Carrie Kendrick and Betty Slone, three brothers, Nathaniel Thacker, Haze Thacker, and Lunner Thacker. Martha is survived by Michael Bingham Jr., who is like a son, two brothers, Burbon Jr. Thacker, Karfa B. Thacker, two sisters, Lorraine Lawhorn, Mary Ann Thacker, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Monday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Charles Justice and Randy Bentley officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
