Ada was reared and educated in Dallas. She was a graduate of Highland Park High School, Hockaday Junior College and received her bachelor of arts degree from Southern Methodist University in 1948. Upon her graduation, Ada married Hubert J. Foster on Aug. 4, 1948. They spent some time traveling, then they settled in San Antonio, where their first child, Shelley, was born. After three years in San Antonio, they moved to their final destination, Fort Worth. In Fort Worth their second daughter, Camille, and son, Hubert Jr., were born. Hubert was in the insurance business and Ada was a stay-at-home mother raising three children. During their younger years, the family spent many weekends swimming and boating on Eagle Mountain Lake. They also enjoyed their trips to South Padre Island and Brownsville. In 1971, Ada decided on a new career. With the children grown, she became a school teacher. She taught in the Castleberry School ISD until her retirement in 1991. She loved teaching school and her many students. She often said they were some of the most rewarding years of her life. Mrs. Foster was a member of The Assembly, a former member of the Fort Worth Junior League, and the Fort Worth Symphony Leagues, a member of the Texas Retired Teachers' Association, The Harmony Club, The Social Order of the Beauceants, the First United Methodist Church, and The Wesley Bible Class.
