Betty Jane Jordan Mordica, 83, died Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at her home. Services will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11 am at Main Street Baptist Church with visitation from 9-11am. Internment following the service at Dixie Community Cemetery.

Mrs. Mordica was originally from Hot Coffee, MS, raised in Hattiesburg and a graduate of Hattiesburg High School. She was married to George J Mordica for 65 years. She was a dedicated wife, terrific mother, homemaker and worked in the family business. She was a full time servant of God at Main Street Baptist Church where she served in the nursery for over 30 years and also helped with the children and youth. She loved children beyond all, loved to cook and was an avid shopper.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thelma Knight Jordan and Abbas Massan Jordan; and one sister, Frances Hamilton.

She will be missed by her survivors including her husband, George J Mordica of Hattiesburg; five children, George (Martha) Mordica II of Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, Tony (Mary Ann) Mordica of Dixie Community, Kristi Mordica of Accord, New York, Kerri (Jimmy) Taylor of West Monroe, Louisiana, and Gentry (Marcia) Mordica of Dixie Community; 11 grandchildren, George (Laura) Mordica and Whitney (Ryan) Peters of Kansas, Joe (Megan) Mordica, Elizabeth (Jacob) Milstead, Sarah (Josh) Richards and Deborah Mordica of Hattiesburg, Kerrigan, Kayli and Keaton May of Louisiana, and Matt and Jaclyn Mordica of Hattiesburg; and 7 great grandchildren. The family extends a special thanks to her home caregivers Alice Adams, Cassie Daniels, and Sylvia Allen.
