From the Frederick-Town Herald of June 18, 1814:
"DIED--On the 9th of June instant, in this town, Mrs. CATHARINE JOHNSON, widow of the late Col. Baker Johnson.
She loved and was tenderly beloved by all her relations and friends, she breathed a spirit of general benevolence and in all her deeds displayed those virtues that emanate from a generous and religious heart; her loss is severely felt by her disconsolate family."
