Phyllis was born on January 26, 1928 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late John Stauffer and the late Pearl (Smitley) Stauffer. She married the late Paul F. Bauermeister on July 9, 1943 in Wells County, Indiana and he passed away on November 18, 2005.
Phyllis was a member of the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Decatur, IN. Phyllis was homemaker.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia (Richard) Archbold-Milholland of Bluffton, IN; daughter, Cynthia (Robert) Williams of Ossian, IN; daughter, Sandra (Bill) Otis of Ft. Wayne, IN; daughter, Paulette Dawson of Atlanta, GA; son, Jeffrey (Trudi) Bauermeister of Ossian, IN; brother, Carl Stauffer of Bluffton, IN; brother, Gerald Stauffer of Markle, IN; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding Phyllis in death were 1 son, Allan Bauermeister; 1 sister, Barbara, 2 brothers, Robert & James Stauffer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 in the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church with Rev. Tim Pederson officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, Indiana.
Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN and on Monday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
Preferred memorials are to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church or Adams County Heart Club.
