County Home in Bushnell
on Christmas Morning.

Rushville, Ill., Dec. 30 -- On Christmas morning in Bushnell, Ill., Jasper Buyers, former resident of Schuyler county, died suddenly at the county home, where he had been taken a week previous, suffering from cancer of the stomach.

Mr. Byers was born on a farm south of Rushville fifty-eight years ago. He was one of three children born to Mr. and Mrs. William Byers, pioneers of Woodstock township. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, Henderson Byers, who died in Glendive, Mont., and one sister, Mrs. Perry Logsdon.

His life long occupation, that of a dry goods clerk, and until a few weeks ago, he was employed at the Crane dry goods store in Bushnell.

The body was brought to Rushville and on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock funeral services, conducted by the Rev. C. S. Mundell, were held from the Sugar Grove church. Burial was in the Naught cemetery.
