Arno Franz Droske, 92, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. The son of Franz Friedrich and Luise (Grosse) Droske, he was born January 13, 1923 in Brandenburg, Germany. He married Irma Louise Bruemmer on December 28, 1944 at Houston, TX. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II, enlisting in 1941 and stationed in the Pacific Theater. He served as a radio gunner with the dive bomber squadron VB-19 aboard the USS Lexington. He received nine service medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Purple Heart.

Arno was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Russellville and served as an elder for several years. He worked as a manger for RCA and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed being outdoors, feeding his raccoons and other wildlife, vegetable gardening and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a great-granddaughter, Abigayle Roberson.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, December 28, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church of Russellville. Pastor Darrell Kobs will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Lutherville by Humphrey Funeral Service.

Full military honors will be provided. Visitation will be from 4-6PM, on Sunday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 500 N Cumberland Ave and/or St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery Association, c/o Carol Grimmer, 155 N. Cumberland Ave, Lamar, AR 72846.
