Thomas was born October 5, 1927 to Alexander C. and Nona M. Boyd in Indianapolis. He served in the U.S. Army. He then went on to marry the love of his life, Barbara J. Boyd. They added to their family with 3 children – Timothy, Sandra, and James.
Thomas spent his career working in telecommunications for AT&T and Indiana Bell. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 575, CWA Union, and 25 year member of the Telephone Pioneer Club. He was a member of Arlington Christian Church until it closed and then joined Eastgate Christian Church where he spent much of his time fixing things as he could make and fix anything.
But most of all, Thomas enjoyed spending his free time with his loving family and friends. He is survived by his children Timothy E. Boyd (Bonnie), Sandra J. Browning (Russ), and James E. Boyd (Gayle); 5 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and sister Joan Cochran.
He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara and siblings Norvel, Eugene, Jack, and Robert Boyd and Margarite Bauermeister.
