Stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage while at work, FRANK JOSHUA WACHTER, 206 West South street, died at the Frederick City Hospital Monday. Death ensured about four hours following the attack, which occurred at the Wilson Steve House, with which he had been associated for 35 years and which is now operated by his nephew, Merhl F. Wachter.

He was 68 years of age and was born at Bloomfield, son of the late Thomas M. and Cynthia Measell Wachter, both of Frederick County.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Utica; and was prominent in fraternal circles. He was a charter member of Frederick Lodge No. 1067 Fraternal Order of Eagles; Frederick Lodge, No. 371, Loyal Order of Moose; Chippewa Tribe, No. 19, Improved Order of Red Men, and the United Fire Company. While never holding office he was an ardent Republican.

He is survived by one son, Frank J. Wachter, Jr., Linwood, a student at the University of Baltimore. Also surviving is a brother, George M. Wachter, Union Bridge; two sisters, Mrs. H. Clay Putman, Middleburg; and Mrs. Glenn r. Crum, Frederick.

Services were held at the C.E. Cline and Son funeral home; interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
