SISTER MARY ANGER: August 28, 1969

The following article tells of the retirement and death of Sister Mary Alacoque Anger, daughter of the late Alois (Louis) Anger and Louise Anger of Leopold.

It was June 30 and the countless friends of Sister Mary Alacouque Anger of St. Mary's Hospital Radiology department, were filled with mixed emotions as she was retiring that day. She was a brilliant, untiring woman, respected, admired and loved by those who knew her. She became a registerd nurse fifty years ago and within six years was named as assistant administrator of St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis. Across the nation people heard and read her name because of the work she did in establishing the first four year Baccalaureate program of radiological technology at St. Louis University. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B. S. in radiological technology in 1937. At 5:00 p.m. that Monday, Sister Alacoque officially retired. One hour later, without warning, she passed from this life and into the hands of God. Sister Mary Alacoque is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lex Paul of St. Louis and many nieces and nephews in Southeast Mo.
