Alexander J. Gacioch Sr. of Tuttle Road, Middletown, died Wednesday at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. He was 76.
He was born in Middletown. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 110th Triple A Gun Battalion. He was employed in area construction before retiring and was a member of Union Local 611. He was a member of the Polish Knights Society, DAV Chapter 7 and the South End Old Timers Athletic Association of Middletown.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Watts Gacioch; a son, Alexander J. Gachich Jr. of Middletown; two daughters, Alexandria Simonelli and Madelyn Garofalo, both of East Hampton; three sisters, Frances Wojcik of North Bergen, N.J., Rose Reynolds of Vidalia, Ga., and Mary Misenti of Middletown; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A son, Walter F. Gacioch, died earlier.
The funeral was held St. Mary Church
Burial, with military honors, will be in Calvary Cemetery, Middletown.
