Maymie Faye Davis, 94, of Hayesville died Friday (March 31, 2006) in a Blairsville, GA hospital. She was a native of Clay County where she had lived most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Jack A. and Omie Ledford Penland and the wife of the late Fred William Davis, who died June 9, 1999. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hayesville First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Farrell and Earl Penland; and a sister, Hazel Anderson.

Surviving are four daughters, Jo Ann Drake and Betty Sue Rogers both of Gainesville, GA, Sandra Roberts of Young Harris, GA, and Kathy M. Denton of Hiawassee, GA; four sons, Roger F. Davis of Dayton, VA, Worth W. Davis of Pittsburgh, PA, Wilfred C. Davis of Stockbridge, GA, and Rex A. Davis of Hoschton, GA; a brother, Robert Penland of Franklin, NC; and 22 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren.

Burial in the Hayesville First United Methodist Church Cemetery.
