MEBANE - Mr. John Edgar Webster, 87, of 4503 Clayborne's Road, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at the Rehabilitation & Health Care Center of Alamance in Graham.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at Mt. Adar baptist Church, with the rev. Chad Hall and the Rev. Jack Church officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was born in Caswell County on June 1, 1910, to the late James Webster and the late Sally Cobb Webster. He was a retired employee with the North Carolina Department of Transportation as a truck driver. He was a member of Mt. Adar Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Naomie Pulliam Webster of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Janie W. Carver and Mrs. Sadie W. Stokes; both of Mebane, three sons, James Edward Webster of Burlington; Ralph Aaron Webster of Reidsville; Donald Franklin Webster of Burlington; three sisters, Mrs. Mallie Williamson; Mrs. Eva Richmond and Mrs. Victoria Bush; all of Leasburg, one brother, Mr. William Webster of Haw River; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Webster was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Grover Cecil Webster.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane. And at other times, at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Janie W. Carver, 4926 Corbett Ridge Road, Mebane.
