Bovina - Vincent L. Trimbell, 82, a lifelong resident of Bovina Center, passed away at his home early Thursday morning, Dec. 10, 2015, following a long illness.
Born on Oct. 24, 1933, in Bovina Center, Vincent was the son of the late Vincent A. and Olga (Havic) Trimbell.
He was a 1950 graduate of Andes Central School and was the owner and operator of the family farm on Cape Horn Road. Vincent was married to Mary R. (Meeghan) Trimbell.
Vince was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and trap shooting. He was also a gun enthusiast and had a vast knowledge of that field.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Trimbell of Bovina, children, Ethel (Fred) Hammond of Stamford, Robert (Karen) Mellott of Gilbertsville, and Ronald Mellott of Bovina; grandchildren, Ben, Joe, Brian, Cheryl and Kayla; six great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Vincent was predeceased by a grandson, Mathew Mellott, and a sister Gwendolyn Pease.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at MacArthur Funeral Home, 131 Main Street, Delhi.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at the Bovina Presbyterian Church, County Highway 6, Bovina Center. Burial will follow at Bovina Cemetery.
