OBITUARY FOR BETTY "BEE BEE" L. LEATHERS

Betty "Bee Bee" L. Leathers passed away on December 17th, 2015 at the age of 89. She was born in Blanco, OK on March 28th, 1926 to Leon and Hattie Peoples. The oldest of five children, she grew up in Oklahoma, Colorado and California.

She met her first husband, H.J. Sharp, in San Francisco where they were married. She worked in the ship yards for a few years before they moved to Texas.

After her marriage to Sharp ended, she moved back to Bartlesville, OK. She worked at the movie theatre where she met and married her second husband, Bill J. Leathers. She worked for the Crown Drugs Store as a soda jerk for a few years.

In 1949, Bee Bee went to work for Phillips Petroleum Company. She started out as an elevator operator and worked her way up to the oil and gas charts department. She retired from Phillips in 1984 and moved to Park Hill, OK.

Bee Bee was a Methodist by faith. She was always up for having fun and traveling the world. As a pass time, she would work on her embroidery and ceramics.

She was a lifetime member of the Jane Phillips Sorority and a member of the Phillips bowling league. Bee Bee will be greatly missed for her lively attitude and great love she had for the people around her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.

She leaves three brothers, Ronnie Peoples, Kenny Peoples and Jimmy Peoples; one sister, Barbara Peoples; one son, Gary Leathers; two daughters, Linda Mullins and Charlene Farris and husband Lou and a special daughter, Robyn Riley. Her legacy leaves on through her nine grandchildren, Shelly Lynn, Greg, Brad, Stephanie, Stacy, Brian, Shannon, Jamie and Stacie; nine great-grandchildren as well as many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services for Bee Bee will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 21st, 2015 at Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Tahlequah, OK. Interment will follow at Cookson-Proctor Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to services on Monday, December 21st, 2015 starting at 8:00 am. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.reedculver.com.
