Elizabeth Taylor, 89, passed away, on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Kirkwood Manor.

Elizabeth was born on December 19, 1920 to Aaron Patrick Tate and Martha Elizabeth (Siler) Tate in North Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a member of New Braunfels Presbyterian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, Green Thumb Garden Club, and Eastern Star.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia "Pat" Olson and her husband Mike; son, Randel "Randy" Taylor and his wife Joyce both of New Braunfels, TX; grandchildren, Traci Hettie and husband Richard of Boerne, TX, Teri Howell and husband Rob, of Houston, TX, Tristin Durham and husband Joe of Missouri City, TX, Trey Taylor and wife Allison of Austin, TX and Tate Taylor of Austin, TX; great-grandchildren, Scott and Brett Hettie; Taylor, Erin, Cole, and Nate Durham; and Layne Taylor. Also surviving her are nieces Virginia Murphy and Betty Lou Schrader and her husband Pete and nephews John Tate and Jack Tate and his wife Sandra.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers, Jack Tate, Carl Tate and Peck Tate; husband Clyde William Taylor; and daughter, Cheryl Ann Taylor. Elizabeth loved her family and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her home was welcoming to all who entered and her cooking was second to none. She will be deeply missed and her legacy will be lasting.

Public visitation will begin 5:00 PM Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Zoeller Funeral Home and will continue until 9:00 PM. The family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the New Braunfels Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. Kenneth Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to New Braunfels Presbyterian Church.
