Ernest V. Sweet passed away February 12, 1975. He was a resident of 2322 18th St., Eureka.

He was the husband of Mrs. Mabel Sweet of Eureka; father of Ernest R. Sweet of Kimberly, Idaho, Bruce Sweet of Eureka and Warren C. Sweet of Sacramento; brother of Anna Nickols of Fortuna. He is survived by four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Sweet was a native of Falk (Elk River Road), age 82 years. He worked for the California Barrel Company as a bookkeeper for 45 years. He was judge of the Arcata Justice Court from 1958 to 1970. Mr. Sweet was a Veteran of World War I, member and past commander of the American Legion of Arcata, veteran of World War I Barracks, Veterans of Foreign Wars, 60 year member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Arcata, Native Sons of the Golden West and the Humboldt Historical Society.

Funeral services will be held at Paul's Funeral Chapel in Arcata on Friday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Andrew Montgomery officiating.

Military Rites will be conducted at Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at Paul's Chapel in Arcata on Thursday, 9 to 5 p.m. ad 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, fro 9 a.m.
