NUPTIALS ARE HELD FOR MISS RUTH ROPP
The marriage of Miss Ruth Ardel Ropp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Ropp, York, R. D. 4. and James Alton Schwenk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schwenk, 221 North Newberry street (sic), took place at 7 p. m. last Saturday in the Christ Lutheran church (sic). The Rev. Dr. Gerald G. Neely performed the double ring ceremony.
The bride wore a grey dress with wine accessories and a shoulder bouquet of gardenias. A sister of the bride, Mrs. Robert Taylor, was the matron of honor. She wore a royal blue dress with brown accessories and a shoulder bouquet of red roses.
The bridegroom had his brother Robert Schwenk, as best man.
A reception took place at the home of the bride following the ceremony. Mrs. Schwenk is employed by the Natoonal (sic) Biscuit company. The bridegroom served four years in the service. He is employed by R. W. Strickler wholesale produce dealer.
In the near future, Mr. and Mrs. Schwenk will be home to their friends at 217 North Newberry street (sic).

Ruth A. Baker, 66, of 331 Frederick Court, York, died at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Harold "Ben" Baker.
The service will 2 p.m. Thursday at John W. Keller Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave., York. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Viewing will be 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Baker was born in York. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Myrtle (Arnsberger) Ropp.
She was employed at the former National Biscuit Co. for 32 years. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Baker also is survived by a stepdaughter, Theora Kingsbury, York; a stepson, Jerry Baker, York; three sisters, Janice Ropp and Genevieve Wilson, both of York; and Dorothy Hoffman, St. Louis, Mo.; and a brother, Alfred Ropp Jr., York.
Officiating at the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Leonard R. Klein.
