A.L. Dunn, 91, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 North 12th Street with Reverend Paul Matta officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. Viewing and visitation will start one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Mr. Dunn was born December 11, 1924, in Santa Anna, Texas to Luther and Agnis Ragon Dunn.

He will be remembered for always being there to take care of the family and business needs.

A.L. worked as a driller in the oilfield for many years.

He also took care of his cattle on a farm he had in Coleman, Texas.

A.L. worked hard till his last days with us, he will be missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Edna Evelyn Dunn of Abilene; and his only daughter, Alisa Leslie Chevrie and husband, Lonnie, Jr. of Abilene; three grandchildren, Cory Chevrie of Abilene, Amber Lovell and husband, Danny of Dallas, and Samantha Eagle and husband J.C. of Abilene; one great Grandchild, Austin Chevrie of Hamlin; three nieces, Barbara Wilburn and husband, Beaver, Karen Horn and husband, Don, and Linda Seal; two nephews, Donald Bible and wife, Wanda, and Eddie Odom and wife, Phillis ; and many more great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Ina May Green and husband Grant Donald Odom; two sisters, L.C. Bible and her husband, E.W., and Sue Carpenter and her husband, Leroy; a brother-in-law, Ed Odom and wife, Betty; two nieces, Yvonne Purcella and Ricki Salyer; and a nephew, Henry Bible.
