Hannah was born in Maryland, the oldest of ten children. In the mid 1840's she married George Stoner and they had eventually had 8 children together. In 1850 they were living in Seneca County Ohio but soon after moved to Marengo, Iowa where they would live until George died in 1883. Soon after, Hannah would move to Nebraska to live with daughter Adah Hann and her family. She lived there until 1896 when she moved to Colorado to live with another one of her children; daughter Alverda Emmert, son-in-law John and 3 grandsons. She died in 1901 and is buried at the Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
