Aaron Ray Sloas, age 22, of Catlettsburg, Ky., died Friday, November 24, 2006, in Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert, Ohio.
He was born November 28, 1983, in Ashland, Ky., a son of Kenneth Ray Sloas and Jenny Groves, both of Catlettsburg.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Clifford Elwood Groves, his step-grandmother, Judy Sloas, and two uncles, Clifford and Vernon Groves.
He was a construction laborer.
Additional survivors include a son, Brentton Andrew of Ashland, his maternal grandmother, Della Groves of Catlettsburg, his paternal grandparents, Sue and step-grandfather Jim French of Grayson, Ky., and Estill Sloas of Catlettsburg, special cousins, Brandon Groves, Clifford Groves, LeAndra Groves, Jonathan Groves, George Groves Jr., Katrina Groves, Ryan Groves, Cameron Groves and Billy Groves, step-cousins Tyler Holt, Aaron Holt and Casey Holt, several aunts and uncles; and numerous friends.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2006, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland, by Pastor Dale Henson and Chuck Berry. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery.
