George Wesley Adkison, Age 67, died December 13, 2015 at his home in Texarkana, Arkansas. He was born in Eudora, Arkansas on August 13, 1948 to Bill and Pauline Carter Adkison, who both predeceased him.

George was a Baptist, a life time member of the NRA, a past member of the Texarkana Bass Club, White Oak Hunting Club in Magnolia, AR, and the Texarkana Home Builders Association. George was a former employee of E. C. Barton Company, Dyke Industries, and Texarkana Door & Window Company. He was retired from Adkison Quality Home Construction after building many homes for clients and friends in the Texarkana area.

George was a devoted husband, father, brother, and special to all his family and friends. George was always thinking of others, a true southern gentleman, an honest, trustworthy and loving person to all who knew and loved him, and he will be greatly missed. George enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards, traveling, cruising and lake time with friends and family.

George is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marlene Adkison of Texarkana, Arkansas and a son Wes Adkison of Vancouver, Washington; two brothers, Jim (Bobbi) Adkison of Tulsa Oklahama, Larry (Vivian) Adkison of Fort Worth Texas; three sisters, Nancy Lancaster of Charleston, TN, Annette (Gene) Grigsby and Betty (Jack) Sanders of Texarkana, Arkansas; his father and mother-in-law, Ervin and Evelyn Fisher of DeWitt, AR; three brother in laws and their spouses, Steve (Annette) Fisher; Keith (Janet) Fisher and Allen Fisher; three sister in laws and their spouses, Lynette (Will Willis) Fisher, LaDonna Woodiel and Paula (Chris) Britton and by many nieces, nephews and a host of great friends.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. at Texarkana Funeral Home (Arkansas). Graveside services and burial in the Fisher Family Plot will be at Thompson Cemetery in DeWitt, Arkansas on Thursday, December 17 at 2 p.m.
