Anna Catherine Patton McWhorter was born in 1783 in Buncombe County, North Carolina the daughter of Col. Robert and Rebecca Cathey Patton. She married in 1801 Buncombe County, North Carolina Hance Campbell McWhorter the son of Lt. Hance Campbell and Sarah Winslow McWhorter. She died in Oct 1859 Gibson County, Tennessee of Typhoid Fever and is listed on the 1860 Mortality Schedule and shown as a widow. In that same epidemic it is believe her Husband Hance had died earlier in the same year.
