Agnes J. Boord, 96, passed peacefully from this life on Friday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
Born May 25, 1919, in Cumbola, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Sophia Tupiak Rompalo.
Agnes was much loved by her many family members and friends for her hospitality, caring and fun-loving nature. She was an accomplished athlete and an avid golfer. Agnes was a member of Holy Cross Church, New Philadelphia.
The family expresses deep gratitude for the tender and loving care Aggie and our family received these past 10 years while she resided at Schuylkill Center.
Agnes was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Paul "Buddy" Boord; a daughter, Betty Ann Boord-Clifford; six brothers; two sisters.
Agnes is survived by her son, Francis "Pat" and wife, Maryann Boord, Durham, Conn.; three granddaughters and their families, Kelli and Mick Odenwaelder, Goshen, Conn., Bethanne and Gary Salva, Middlefield, Conn., and Carrianne Boord and Steve DelVecchio, Durham, Conn.; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Thomas J. Bartashus Funeral Home, New Philadelphia. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
