Mrs. Margaret Cronan Whitley, age 91 of Conyers, died Friday, December 11, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lee H. Cronan, Sr. and Guy Howard Whitley; parents, James and Jesse Miller; brothers, James Miller and Dean Miller. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Lee and June Cronan, Conyers; grandchildren, Nancy Shelnutt, Conyers, Paul Cronan, Covington; and 5 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Whitley was a member of Rockdale Baptist Church. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Bank of Rockdale which later became SunTrust Bank, was an Assistant to the Tax Commissioner, City Clerk in 1952 for the City of Conyers, and worked for the State of Georgia as an assistant to the County Extension Agent. Mrs. Whitley was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, had a green thumb and enjoyed sitting on her sun porch watching and feeding the birds. She loved her family and will be missed. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 14, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Pastor Butch Davis officiating; interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
