Mrs. Clark was the valedictorian of the Hillside High School graduating class of 1976. She worked for Big Star Foods for 14 years and Blue Cross Blue Shield for 23 years. She was a current employee with Accent Hardwood Flooring. Mrs. Clark loved shopping, shoes, and spending time with her kids and grandbabies. She also loved lying out at the beach. She had an infectious personality and was always the life of the party.
Mrs. Clark is survived by her husband of 30 years, Walter Stephen Clark; son, Matthew Stephen Clark of Durham; daughters, Amber Clark Chapman (Siler) and Shannon Nicole Clark, both of Indian Land, SC and Wendy Clark Boyle (Todd) of Raleigh; sister, Joyce Bowden Richardson (Elbert) of Troutman; brother, Lunda Earl Bowden of Durham; and grandchildren, Anderson Jacob Boyle, Caleb William Boyle, Leighton Kaye Chapman, and Raelyn Jane Chapman.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Friday at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.
