George Aldridge, aged 56, a farmer residing northwest of Knightstown, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Effie Jones, in Indianapolis, last Thursday afternoon following an illness which dated from last February, when he contracted influenza. After a few days illness with influenza he was out among his friends and attending to business again, but suffered a backset, from which he did not recover. Deceased was a native of Kentucky and came here about ten years ago from Vanceburg. His wife died about fourteen years ago. The remains were brought to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Maple, Saturday afternoon, and the funeral occurred from the M. E. church Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. Kerlen, of Indianapolis, assisted by Revs. Hogan and Doan, of this city. Mr. Aldridge was an Odd Fellow and a large number of the order were in attendance at the funeral. Burial was made at Glencove cemetery.
