Robert Espy, 86, of Centerville passed away, Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
Robert was born in Darby, Iowa to Russell & Leona Espy on July 5, 1929. He received his education from Moravia High School. Robert served in the United States Air Force after graduating from the Academy. He was united in marriage to Lillian Kudart on July 14, 1951. Together they had two children: Jay and Jerry. Robert enjoyed the outdoors and working with his hands. He had a great love for his occupation as a farmer.
Survivors include, two sons: Jay Espy of Centerville, Jerry Espy of Mediapolis and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Espy, three siblings: Bill Espy, Jack Espy, Kathrine Kaster and his parents.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Standley officiating. Interment will be in Haines Cemetery immediately following service. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
