Arnita Weber, age 79, a resident of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on Monday, December 7, 2015. She was born in Norman, Oklahoma on March 5, 1936 to Hilmer and Alma (Barkley) Adkisson.

She moved with her parents to California during WWII to help support the war effort and her beloved uncles who were fighting. While she lived in California at the age of 8, she became a Christian and was baptized. As a child she grew up in the Baptist Church. At the age of 10 she and her parents returned to Oklahoma. In 1947, she was overjoyed by the birth of her sister, Cheryl (Adkisson) Zimmerman.

Arnita graduated from Mountain View High School in 1954 and went on to attend Hill’s Business College in Oklahoma City on a scholarship. After graduation she took a position as Executive Secretary to the Underwriter at Standard Life Insurance Company.

Arnita met and fell in love with Lloyd Henry Weber who she married on November 24, 1956. The couple made their home in Lone Wolf and recently celebrated their 59th anniversary. Arnita devoted herself to helping the farming operation, custom harvesting, and caring for their children, Renae Lynne (Weber) Vitale and Ronald Kent Weber.

She was a devoted, loving, spirited, and committed mother, wife, friend, and Christian. Her father was a 32nd degree mason and she became active in the Rainbow Organization as a result, achieving, leadership at the State level. After marriage, she and Lloyd joined the Lone Wolf United Methodist Church where both were dedicated members for the past 59 years, serving a variety of capacities as their faith and the needs of the church led them.

Arnita was deeply committed to the political process in the country. Being deeply influenced by Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal during the Great Depression, she was very vocal about her experiences and her hopes and vision for our country’s future. She served as a monitor at local elections for many years, even as city election coordinator the past several years. She was also a charter member of Lone Wolf’s Pioneer Garden Club where she served as a secretary for many years up until the time of her death.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alma (Barkley) and Hilmer Adkisson; and two grandchildren, Morgan Vitale and Adam Weber.

Arnita is survived by her husband, Lloyd Weber of the home; a daughter, Renae and husband Neil Vitale of Lone Wolf, OK; a son, Ronnie and wife Laura Weber of Lone Wolf, OK; four grandchildren, Whitney Vitale of Stillwater, Rosie Vitale of Lone Wolf, OK, Sarah Vitale of Lone Wolf, OK, and Abby Weber of Lone Wolf, OK; sister, Cheryl and husband Rick Zimmerman; a niece, Tara Zimmerman Hxon; a nephew, Todd Zimmerman and wife Cindy; and a loving group of friends, cousins, and her church family.

Funeral Services - Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Lone Wolf, OK with Pastor Sue Merritt officiating . Interment at Lone Wolf Cemetery.
