Born April 11, 1933 in Nebo, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charles Marvin Hemphill and Vivian Viola Parks Hemphill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Page.
Lucille graduated from Nebo High School in 1951. She attended Appalachian State University where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Education and Library Science in 1955. In 1960 she obtained her Master's Degree. Lucille worked as School Librarian for Hildebran High School from 1958 until 1974, then transferred to Hildebran Junior High where she worked until her retirement in June 1990. She was a member of Mt Harmony United Methodist Church where she taught the Adult Sunday School class for many years.
Survivors include her sister, Jean H. Brooks of Nebo, NC; nephews, Lloyd R. Bailey Jr of Celina, TX, Ethan A. Bailey of Summerfield, NC, and Forest Page of Chapel Hill, NC; nieces, Martha Page Lamb of Belmont, NC, Page Thompson Carver of Gastonia, NC, and Sally Thompson McGinnis of Clover, SC; ten great-nephews; eight great-nieces; four great-great-nephews; and three great-great-nieces. She is also survived by two godsons, John H. Mode and Matthew Mode, both of Hickory.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Mt. Harmony United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
