He was born in Washburn 5-27-1901 the son of William and Rose (Smith) Ballard. He is survived by a son and daughter in law, Vincent and Julie Ballard of Presque Isle, 2 sisters, Hannah Newcomb of Portland and Mona Bessey of North Anson, 1 granddaughter, Sharon and 4 great grandchildren, David, Christopher, Sarah and Mary, all of Bangor. Burial Riverside Ext. cemetery.
