Tremont (PNS - Alex F. Steinbeck, 60, of R.R. 1, died at 8 a.m. Monday at his home. He had been ill two years.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Davis Mortuary. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight.
He was born Dec. 28, 1918, at Mendon, Mo., a son of Clyde and Bertha Jones Steinbeck. He married Betty Wheat Dec. 28 1946 at Farmer City. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Shirley Ann Hartlipp, Peoria; Connie Stauffer, Pekin, and Janet Harper, Morton; two sons, Robert Coggins, Delavan, and Edward Steinbeck, Eureka; his mother, Mendon, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Tremont American Legion.
