He was the father of Herman Schlappig, employed by Dr. Brobst, and Mrs. Leonard Conrad, living on H. Reist Landis' farm about two miles north-west of Lititz. Mr. Schlappig had been in Buena Vista, Col., working as a gold miner with John Mohr, brother-in-law to Dr. Brobst, but came east only two weeks ago. For nineteen years deceased was station agent at Mohrsville, Berks county, where he will be buried next Tuesday."
