Daughter of John and Emily Acland. Married Walter Empson, headmaster of Wanganui Collegiate School (1888-1909) on Sept. 15, 1885 at the Church of the Holy Innocents at her father's station, Mount Peel. They had a son, Arthur Hugh Acland, and a daughter, Judith Mary.

Agnes Dyke Acland (1861-1945) was the daughter of John Acland and Emily Harper.
She was born on the 28th of Feb 1861 and baptised on the 22 Mar 1861 at Saint James, Paddington, London, England.
She migrated with her family to New Zealand in 1854.

EMPSON - ACLAND - On the 15th September, at the Holy Innocents' Church, Mount Peel, by the Most Rev. the primate, grandfather of the bride, assisted by the Rev. J. Preston and the Rev. Walter Harper, Walter Empson, eldest son of the late Rev. Arthur Empson, of Eydon, Northamptonshire, to Agnes Dyke, eldest daughter of J. Barton A. Acland, of Holnicote, Mount Peel.
In theWW1 war Honours for New Zealand announced on the 4th of October 1918 - Officer (OBE) - Agnes Dyke Empson – of London. For services in connection with New Zealand War Contingent Association.
She died aged 84 on the 3rd of April 1945 in Havelock North, Hastings District, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand and was buried in the churchyard of the Holy Innocents, Mount Peel Station, South Canterbury, NZ.
