Son of Samuel Hullet Aston and Elizabeth Rosa Anna Williams. He married Jessie Marie Carpenter May 2o, 1921 in Hopkins County, Texas. They were the parents of five children, 3 boys and 2 girls.

Sam was born in 1897 although his tombstone says 1895. He fudged 2 years on his birth day in order to join the army during WWI. He was a Private in the Marine Corps.

Jessie Marie Carpenter is the sister of my Grandmother.

Services for Sam Otto Aston, 70, retired oil field worship, were held at the Church of God officiated by Rev. H.L. Sullivan and Rev. W.L. Shires, pastor.

Sam Otto Aston married Jessie Marie Carpenter on 20 May 1921 at Sulphur Springs, Texas. The couple moved to Graham, Texas in 1936 from Royce CIty, Texas.

He was a member of the Pentecostal Church and served with the U.S. Marines Corps in World War I. He was a member of the Veterans of World War I Possum Kingdom Barracks No. 1763 of Graham, Texas. He was a member of the American Legion.

Survived by his wife; one son - Clyde Aston; two daughters - Mrs. Maxine McCune and Mrs. Neta Fay Wheeler; 11 grandchildren; two brothers - Will Aston and Ed Wilkins; three sisters - Mrs. Annie Harris, Mrs. Mollie Pheland, Mrs. Leona Coates.
