Mr. Schrimpshire was a 1952 graduate of Vigor High School where he was a record setting athlete and was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Scott Paper Company after 34 years of service and was a longtime member of the PACE Local 423.
Mr. Schrimpshire was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Wells, and brother, Bobby Schrimpshire.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Billie Dunn Schrimpshire; children, Harlon Schrimpshire, Jr. (Leslie), Lee Tettleton (Tony), and Mark Schrimpshire (Lisa); brother, Mike Wells (Pam); grandchildren, Alex Schrimpshire, Kyle Tettleton, Olivia Tettleton, and Jack Schrimpshire; great-granddaughter, Kylee Makenna Ward; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Friday, December 4, 2015, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 3, from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chickasaw United Methodist Church, 108 Lee Street, Chickasaw, Alabama 36611. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-saraland.com.
