#Albany - Mrs. Alley Eura Shanfield, 106, of Albany, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, November 29, 2015 from her home.

#Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Robin Chaplin will officiate and the family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

#Born January 18, 1909 in Roanoke, VA, Mrs. Shanfield was born to the late William Riley Gusler and Julia Whitlock Gusler. She worked until she was eighty years old in Jewelry sales. She always said she would have worked until she was one hundred, but she had to retire to care for her husband. A devout Christian, Mrs. Shanfield was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Roanoke, VA since 1940, loved Jesus and loved reading the word of God. She was always looking to help others and was never too tired or busy to lend a helping hand. Her love for God, family and staying busy helping others allowed her to live a fulfilled and beautiful life.

#In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shanfiled was preceded in death by her husbands, Terry E. Willis, Bill Williams and David Shanfield and eight siblings.

#Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Evelyn and Ralph Hicks of Albany, Carolyn Buchanan of Springfield, MO; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren.
