Helen Jane Leiker, Nov. 3, 1939 - August 5, 2006. Resident of Orinda.

Helen Leiker passed away on August 5, 2006 at the age of 66.

Born in Colorado, she lived in California since age 3, the last 39 years in Orinda.

Loved and missed by her family, Helen is survived by her husband of 39 years, Ron, her sister Loretta, son Calvin of Lafayette, daughter Kim Noland and son-in-law Peter Noland, and grandchildren Kelly Noland and Nicolas Noland of Half Moon Bay.

Helen graduated from Anaheim High School in 1957. She later fulfilled her lifelong dream of higher education, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Saint Mary's College in Moraga in 1993. Helen also graduated an avid reader and highly proficient writer, and her learning experience at Saint Mary's was a particularly satisfying period in her life. She went on to earn her CPA license, and worked in the accounting profession for about 8 years.

A gourmet cook, and able to plan events to perfection, Helen loved to entertain. Neighborhood parties and family get-togethers flowed seamlessly from appetizers to dessert as a result of her talents. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Ness City, Kansas, with a memorial service planned for early September.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Orinda Women's Club Community Service Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 533, Orinda, CA 94563-3640.
