Cassimer was the son of Samuel King Sr. and Hannah Missimer. He married Margaret "Peggy" Philippi, and they were the parents of Joseph, Mary Ann, Maria, Samuel P., Elijah P., and Greene B. He was a farmer. According to Norman Critchfield, "Cassimer King fell by the wayside as he was going from the home of his youngest son to his own home, a distance of about two miles. It was after nightfall, and the only witness of his death was his faithful dog who ran to his home and by his piteous cries awakened the family and then lead the way back to where the body was found."
