John W. Bradford was born on 10 November 1842 in Conway, Massachusetts, the son of Shubael Bradford (1809-1897) and Mary Ford Bradford (1812-1889). He was married to Mary E. Wheeler (1846-1912) on 8 May 1864 in Buckland, MA. They had two daughters, Lillian (b.1866) and Eleanor (1874-1911). He worked as a farmer and laborer. He died on 11 January 1907 in Fairhaven, MA at the age of 64. He was interred at Riverside Cemetery.
