Mr . Peter Benson, one of the first of the many substantial Swedish citizens to locate in this vicinity, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anna Bergqvist, at Geneva, Monday, April 30, aged 68 years 5 months and 18 days. Mr. Benson was born in Sweden and left his native country in 1854. He came to America and that same year located at St . Charles. In 1860 he removed to Minnesota. He remained there only two years when he returned to Kane county where he remained until 1870 when he purchased a farm south of DeKalb. There he resided until a few years ago when he gave up farming and removed to Sycamore. On last Thanksgiving day he went to Geneva where he remained until he died. Six children survive him. They are : John Benson, present address unknown; Mrs. Anna Bergqvist, Geneva; Peter, Fred and August Benson, Chicago, and Mrs. Victoria M . Conn, DeKalb. The funeral was at DeKalb on Thursday afternoon.
