John E. Barnhill, 67, of Clarksburg, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Capital Region Health Center in Jefferson City, Mo.

He was born January 28, 1944 in Cowgill, Mo., to William David and Anna Jane Kinzie Barnhill. His immediate siblings were: JW, Jessie, Anna, Dessie, CH, TJ, LD, Allene and Tom. He had other siblings with names unknown.

John Barnhill was a farmer and also drove a truck for several different companies. He was a member of the Eagles Club #4027 in California, Mo. He enjoyed coon hunting, riding horses, and taking care of his cows and mules. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his one daughter—Jonna Barnhill Mooneyham of Wheatland, Mo and one son Michael Jones of Columbia, two brothers—T.J. Barnhill of Independence, and Tom Barnhill of Clarksburg; one sister—Aleen Gadd of Latham, Mo.; and 12 grandchildren: Janelle Maples, Joshua Sturgeon, Jenna Utley, Jessica Sturgeon, Jodie Burson, Jessie Mooneyham, Anthony Sturgeon, Jasmine Mooneyham, Jerikah Mooneyham, Janna Mooneyham, Junee`Mooneyham and Jaylin Mooneyham. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.

Services for John Barnhill were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the Cowboy Church near Tipton. Burial was in Hickman Cemetery in Clarksburg Mo.
Arrangements were under the direction of Meisenheimer Funeral Home, Tipton.
