Mary V Scheer
Mrs Mary V Scheer, age 82, formerly of 611 N Water St, a resident
of Sunny Ridge for the past 3 years, died Monday February 18, 1991
at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
The former Mary Fischer was born July 30, 1908 in Stratford, W I,
a daughter of the late Frederic W & Dora Smart Fischer. She moved
to Sheboygan Falls with her family in 1911, and has been a
Sheboygan resident since 1931.
In 1924 she married Albert Amoe. On February 10, 1932, she
married Dr George H Scheer in St Paul, MN. He preceded her in
death on April 7, 1952.
Mary taught short-hand classes at Sheboygan Vocational School
from 1948 to 1955, and secretarial courses at U W Extension-
Sheboygan from 1955 to 1966. She then worked in the city clerk's
office, in 1967 and was a secretary for atty Ernest C Keppler Law
Office from 1969 until retiring in 1971.
Mary was a member of St Luke United Methodist Church, the
United Methodist Church Women and member and past-president
of the Wesleyan Service Guild. She also was a charter member of
Sheboygan County Writers' Club and a member of A. A. R. P. For
2 years she was the librarian for the Wisconsin State Regional
Writers' Association.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs Helen (Charles F) Malzahn
of Sheboygan; 2 Grandaughters, 2 Grandsons, 7 Great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.
The funeral service for Mary V Scheer will be held at 2:00 p m
Thursday, February 21, 1991, at Lippert Funeral Home with the Rev
Kenneth S Knoespel, visitation pastor of St Luke United Methodist
Church, officiating. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Friends
may call at the funeral home, on Thursday, from 11 a m until the time
of service.
The family would appreciate contributions to the memorial fund
established in her name for St Luke United Methodist Church Radio
Program.
